Dr Cairns completed her MBBS from University of Queensland in 1990 and became a fellow of RACGP in 1996.

Meg worked in Queensland Health hospitals in Brisbane and regional Queensland 1991 – 1994, after which she started in General Practice in Toowoomba and Brisbane. She joined Ashgrove Family Practice in 1996.

Dr Cairns is also a Clinical Advisor to Brisbane North Primary Health Network, Metro North Hospital and Health Service, and Queensland Health.

Outside of work, Meg enjoys spending time with family, reading and exploring the great outdoors.
